Building economic resilience through community savings and microfinance.
Uganda- Helping Hands operates a community savings and credit initiative (SACCO) that supports farmers and small business owners in Bundibugyo District. This program provides small loans to help members invest in farming, expand their enterprises, and build financial independence.
Access to affordable credit is one of the biggest challenges facing rural communities. Without it, farmers cannot purchase seeds and tools, small business owners cannot expand, and families remain trapped in poverty. Our SACCO bridges this gap by providing accessible, fair loans that help members grow their livelihoods.
Members contribute regular savings that build a collective fund. These savings create the capital that the group can lend to members in need.
Members can apply for small loans to invest in farming, purchase inventory, expand their businesses, or cover emergency needs.
We provide training on budgeting, saving, and business management to help members use loans effectively and build long-term financial health.
Members support one another, share business advice, and hold each other accountable. This community approach builds trust and collective responsibility.

With additional support, we aim to expand the SACCO to serve more community members:
The demand for affordable credit far exceeds our current capacity. With additional capital, we can enroll more members, provide larger loans, and help more families break the cycle of poverty through entrepreneurship and farming.
Your donation can provide loan capital for farmers and small business owners, helping them invest in their futures. Together, we can build economic resilience in rural Uganda.
